Other manufacturers are located in the community, including Waddell/Ghent Company, Greenfield Research and Advanced Hydraulics. More sites are available for additional development at the nearly 200-acre industrial park.

Incentives for development
Greenfield cooperates fully with the federal and state government and honors any economic incentive programs offered. In addition, we partner with local employers, Highland County, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce and various local organizations seeking to energize and revitalize the local economy. Greenfield Village Council has shown a willingness to negotiate economic incentives for new employers. For more information, contact the city manager.
Low cost of living, business friendly environment
Greenfield is competitive on many levels, with a low Cost of Living Index reported at 78.6 in March 2012, very affordable local taxes, and the same Middle American values that made our country great. We foster an atmosphere of partnership and collaboration with employers as we seek to grow and maintain our community.
Plentiful, high-quality water supply
Greenfield has an ample water supply as our aquifer comes from what was once the ancient underground Teays River, which two million years ago rivaled the Nile in length and grandeur. This water has a pleasant taste and is free of bromine, viewed as a contaminant in many industrial processes. A natural filter keeps the cost of treating our water to a minimum, and we have had no confirmed contamination issues in more than 40 years. We maintain 1.9 million gallons of storage, which reduces the likelihood of service interruptions. Greenfield once pumped a million gallons of water per day, but as industrial needs have changed we currently supply about 400,000 gallons a day. Opportunity knocks for businesses needing plenty of good water!
